PhD topic

Timing Behavior Anomaly Detection for Automatic Fault Localization (Abstract)

News

  • I will present our paper "Trace-context sensitive performance profiling for enterprise software applications" at SPEC International Performance Evaluation Workshop 2008 (SIPEW), Darmstadt, Germany 27-28.06.2008

Research interests

  • Software timing behavior evaluation, performance and control flow monitoring, automatic failure diagnosis, anomaly detection
  • Software dependability (especially availability, performance, and reliability), performability
  • Dynamic software architectures, autonomic computing (self-healing / self-management / autonomic computing / self-adaptation, ...)
  • fault tolerance, (design faults, diversity, n-version-programming)
  • component-based software engineering, service-oriented architectures, architectural styles
  • enterprise information systems, web applications, middleware-intensive software systems
  • ADLs, software agents, neural networks, evolutionary computation, IT law

Short Biography

Matthias Rohr is a PhD student in the Research Training Group TrustSoft at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. He studied computer science at the Monash University, Melbourne (Australia) and at the University of Oldenburg (Germany). At present, he writes a PhD thesis on automatic failure diagnosis for large software systems. His research interests include software performance, software reliability, and software dependability engineering.
